I made some designs online, using a website called Figma. So, this article is about how you can make a design, too.
Open Figma, and make an account if you haven't already.
Make a file.
Add something to your design. As an example, you can try making some shapes.
To add shapes, look for the square at the top. Click on it. When you click, you'll see some shapes. Click on the square shape. You'll see it in the main area.
In the main area, when you click on the shape, you will see a blue outline around it. The white squares in the outline are for resizing if you want to change the size of the shape. To resize, click, keep your finger there, and drag to change the shape's size.
When you want to color your shape, look on the right side of the screen. You'll see "Fill" and a button with "C4C4C4" and "100%". Click on the button.
When you click on the button, you'll see a panel of colors and a color-selecting white-outlined circle. Select the color you want, but not white. (Later, you'll see why.)
After choosing the color, click on the gray, main area to close the color panel.
But, if you want to make a shape with more than one color, don't close the color, panel. If you closed the panel, open it again to make a gradient shape.
To make a gradient shape, go to the color panel, look for where you changed colors, and selected the shape's color. There's a minus and plus sign. Click on the plus sign.
After clicking the plus sign next to the color selector, you will notice part of the square is white. (This is why I wrote not to make your square white. Now you will see the gradient part.)
If you don't want the 2nd color that you just added to be white, select a color for it. Selecting the 2nd color is like selecting the 1st, but with a different color.
Don't make the colors the same. If you make them all the same, it won't be a gradient shape.
You can keep adding more colors, like the 2nd one, which made your square gradient. Don't make them all the same color, but, make them different shades of one color.
I mentioned different color shades in part 14. An example of color shades is that you select orange as the 1st color. The shade you selected was dark orange. For the 2nd color, though, you chose a light orange shade. The dark and light are both orange, but just different shades. (Shades are like different varieties of a color. For example, dark and light oranges are shades.)
You just made a gradient square! Congrats!
